Fascia & Soffit Cleaning: what happens on the day

Most complaints about cleaning come from mismatched expectations rather than bad work. Here is the actual running order of a fascia & soffit cleaning visit so there are no surprises.

Fascia & Soffit Cleaning: what happens on the day

Before we arrive

You get a confirmed arrival window and the name of the lead cleaner. If the property needs keys, a code or a contact on site, we agree that in writing beforehand rather than on the doorstep.

Walkthrough and scope check

The lead walks the space with you, or photographs it if the property is empty, and confirms the agreed scope. Anything outside scope is flagged then — before work starts — with a price, so you decide.

Order of work

We work in a fixed sequence so nothing gets cleaned twice or missed entirely. Fascias and soffits collect a black weathering film that no amount of gutter work will hide. Once a gutter has been cleared, the grubby board above it is the thing people actually notice from the pavement. We soft wash the boards, hand detail the joints and rinse down, which is normally booked alongside a gutter visit while we already have the poles out.

  • Soft wash with a dedicated uPVC cleaner rather than harsh abrasives
  • Bargeboards, soffits, cladding and gutter faces all included
  • Hand detailing on corners, joints and vent strips
  • Window frames and sills rinsed down as part of the same pass
  • Booked with gutter work so the whole roofline is done in one visit
  • Oxidised or chalked boards assessed honestly before we quote

Quality check and sign-off

The lead re-walks the property at the end against the same list. Where the property is empty we send photographs. If something is not right, tell us within 48 hours and we come back.

Property types we do this in most

The running order shifts slightly by building type — older properties take longer on detail, newer ones on glass and hard floors.

  • Post-war semis with wide soffits
  • Dormer bungalows
  • Rendered detached homes
  • Commercial units with clad fascias

Questions people ask

Do I need to be there for the whole visit?

No. Plenty of clients let us in and leave, or arrange key access. We only need someone available at sign-off if you want to walk the property with us.

What if the job takes longer than expected?

We finish the agreed scope. If the property is materially worse than described we call you before doing anything chargeable beyond it.

Will the same team come back next time?

For repeat work we keep the same crew on the property wherever staffing allows, because they already know the layout and the priorities.

How long does fascia & soffit cleaning take?

It depends on size and condition, which is why we confirm a duration in the quote rather than guessing on the phone.
